Honestly. It really doesn't matter how you "personally" feel about it. I'm already at the point where I'm waiting for the next stable branch update because I've pretty much done everything there is to do besides make multiple bases or a giant castle or whatever.Ī lion is not an apex predator. I honestly adore this game and wish there was more for me to do at the end game because I really want to find motivation to keep playing. Honestly, I'm more afraid of a Crabsquid than I am a Reaper Leviathan simply because of its EMP ability.Īnd no, I'm don't think the game is bad because of those facts. I understand that, while this isn't a horror game, there's supposed to be the feeling of anxiety since you're alone on an uncharted planet with creatures never heard of before. Sure, they're not something I'd want to run into in person, but if I'm in a vehicle of some sort, I'm going to feel more safe than I would if I were looking at something whose eyeball is as big as my Cyclops. To me, if these are what are considered Leviathans, then I don't really need to be too worried about being on this planet. It's just that calling these creatures "Leviathans" and then showing us them with what their size actually is sort of lessens the strength that the term "Leviathan" holds. Maybe a planet-eater or a celestial being, but that's outside the scope of what this game's trying to show. I'm just stating my opinion on the matter in case the developers DO decide to add in something that would truly be a Leviathan, in which case, I would think they'd have trouble classifying it, as I don't know of any creature larger than a Leviathan or a Behemoth to compare to in other mythos. These creatures are large, yes, but if they're going to be classed as a "Leviathan", they should be no smaller than the Aurora, itself.Īnd before anyone starts countering by arguing that this "isn't other mythos, it's the dev's own game", I'm not trying to say that things need to be correct according to our physics or our beliefs. Leviathans (and Behemoths as the land counter-part) are supposed to be GIGANTIC. Calling them monsters should definitely fit their role, but calling them Leviathans is being extremely generous. In other mythos, Leviathans are like a mile or more long, not 55-110 meters long. Striking Strength: Small Building Class | At least Building Class, possibly City Block Classĭurability: Small Building level (Juveniles regularly fight each other for survival. While I don't have a problem with what the developers choose to call their creatures, I find it very bothersome that the creatures with "Leviathan" in their name are considered Leviathans. Lifting Strength: At least Class K, likely Class M (Comparable to Reapers.) | Class M (Much stronger than their juvenile counterparts and can send the 55 meter Cyclops submarine flying out of the water.) Speed: Superhuman (Comparable to Reapers.) | Superhuman ( Roughly 32 m/s) The adults in the ecological dead zone ward off anything from entering their territory, including Reapers, but likely not Sea Dragons which are content living in the lava zone and are only known to prey upon Reapers.) Even Juvenile Ghost Leviathans hunt and kill Sea Treaders, which are over 12 meters tall, for food) | At least Building level, possibly City Block level (Bigger than the Ice Worm. The ones in the ecological dead zone are even bigger.), Underwater Breathing (Type 1)Īttack Potency: Small Building level (Can easily destroy a fully modified PRAWN Suit and fight other members of its own species. Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Large Size (Type 1 for 67-meter Juveniles and 2 for 107-meter Adults. It is the second largest aggressive creature of Subnautica, and the third largest creature in the game.Ĭlassification: Aquatic Lifeform, Leviathan Class Predator The Ghost Leviathan is a leviathan class life form belonging to the fauna category.
